Sustainability
Our travel production is ecologically, socially and economically sustainable. We consider the aspects of sustainable tourism in all our actions. We conserve nature values in our travel production by saving natural resources, energy and water and support use of renewable energy. We do not support grey economy but act in long-term and profitably. We respect local culture and traditions and communicate with consideration to environmental and cultural values. We favour local operators in our actions and train our co-operational partners in the development of sustainable tourism.
Season
In Rovaniemi :
The safaris are operated daily from the 1st of December 2011 until the 15th of April 2012 for a minimum of 2 full paying adults.
In Saariselkä:
The safaris are operated daily from the 16th of November 2011 until the 30th of April 2012 for a minimum of 2 full paying participants.
Duration
Safari duration includes departure from/arrival at the Wild North office.

Price includes

- Children 4-14 years receive a 50% discount, unless otherwise stated. On snowmobile safaris discount is valid only when child is sitting in a sledge pulled by the snowmobile. Please note: 1 December 2011 - 10 January 2012, the child discount is 25%. Children under 4 years free of charge.
- Supplement for solo use of snowmobile is 49 € unless otherwise stated in the program. (In Rovaniemi)
- Supplement for solo use of snowmobile is 40 € unless otherwise stated in the program. (In Saariselkä)

Changes and Cancellations
Changes and cancellations must be submitted to Wild North Monday through Friday by 16.00 one day prior to the safari departure. Prepaid safaris will not be refunded.
General information
Safaris and excursions are suitable for all. No previous experience is required. However husky and snowshoe excursions are somewhat more physically demanding than our other safaris and are therefore not recommended for people with restricting physical disabilities.
Technical instruction is provided before all safaris so that all participants have sufficient knowledge of how to manoeuvre the vehicles. Additional emphasis is placed on the special safety regulations regarding every aspect of the safaris.
As a responsible safari organiser, Wild North reserves the right to change the routing, schedules and duration of the excursions if necessary due to prevailing weather conditions or if deemed advisable for safety reasons and the comfort of the participants. We also reserve the right to discontinue the safari if a participant is seen as a potential danger to self or others, or is in poor health.
The snowmobile safaris are operated with 2 persons per snowmobile. Driving a snowmobile under the influence of alcohol is prohibited by Finnish law. According to Finnish law, snowmobile drivers must be at least 15 years of age and in possession of a valid driver’s license. Snowmobiles are insured as required by Finnish law. This insurance covers medical care for injuries of the driver and the passenger arising from accidents. The maximum personal liability for damage caused to a snowmobile is € 800 per accident.
Please keep an identification card (passport or similar) with you on our excursions. Personal travel insurance is recommended.
