The historical village of Kirjakkala with its iron works offers groups an excellent opportunity to get to know an old, Finnish cultural milieu near Helsinki. You can stay overnight, dine and explore the surroundings by canoe or on foot and enjoy fishing, cycling and sailing.
Kirjakkala is situated in the Teijo Hiking Area, an old cultural milieu on the south coast, between Helsinki and Turku. The varied natural environment and traditional culture in Teijo includes not only fresh pine forests, but also alleys lined with trees and traces of the old iron works and manor house culture. The results of centuries of cooperation between man and the environment are particularly seen in the local lakes, which have been created by damming.
Teijo provides excellent surroundings for outdoor recreation: you can hike, fish, canoe and boat. There are more than 40 km of signposted hiking trails in the Teijo area. In the fishing area you can fish with a rod and reel or a hook and liner or fly-fish – throughout the year. On our crayfishing trips you can also experience the exotic crayfishing tradition. We also organise fishing and sailing trips of different lengths (also at sea).
A large, historically valuable area has been renovated in the old iron works of Kirjakkala for the use of groups visiting Teijo. There are two houses for accommodation and two houses for dining. In addition, there is a new lakeside sauna. We arrange accommodation, meals, transportation and trips for your group. The accommodation includes linen, use of the sauna and cleaning.
