Good to know

Weather conditions during September-October

The weather conditions can vary quite a lot this time of the year. It can be sunny, warm and dry with day temperatures of around 10 degrees Celsius, but sometimes the winter with some snow can start that time. If You think about the clothes, it is quite important, that it is easy to walk in the forests, so the clothes should not be too heavy. When hunting with an moose hunting dog, we will be walking with the dog in the forests, and getting cold is not usual. Of course we need also some quite warm clothes to be able to stand in one place on hour or so. Waterproof boots are also needed. If You don´t want to carry all the clothes and equipment of Your own with You, we can also find You something from local hunting and fishing shops or from the clothes of Wild North the first day you are here in Wild North.
Please note also differencies between the North and South Finland. In the northernmost Lapland it could be already winter with snow and coldness in October and in the Southern Finland already.

Hunting area

The hunting will take place nearly in whole Finland. The accommodation will take place in the forest or wilderness cabins of Wild North near the hunting area or at hotels if required. the wilderness cabins are warm and comfortable with quite good facilities, but with no luxury. You will not need sleeping bag or anything else to overnight. If You want to overnight in the forest with a lean to and fire, that can be made with the equipment of Wild North.

With You there will be all the time hunting guide with dog and then there will be extra help to prepare meals in the forest and in the cabins. Also there is one extra person for us when needed to help the hunting arrangements, transportations etc.
