1. Booking conditions
Metsähallitus/Wild North hereinafter referred to as the owner, applies the
following conditions with regard to the booking of cabins and the cancellation
of bookings. The advance and final payment must be paid by the due date
indicated on the invoice. The customer must always cancel the booking if he
decides not to go to the cabin. If the customer has not paid the
invoice/invoices by due date Metsähallitus has the right to cancel the booking.
Cabins may be booked through other organizations besides Wild North. In such
cases the conditions applied by the organization in question in its own
operations will be observed with regard to booking and cancellations.
2. Booking and payment
After making a booking the customer will receive bank giro forms for the
payment of an advance/final charge or the entire rental fee. A service fee of 13
EUR will be added to the bookings. The service fee will not be charged of
booking made in the online booking system. If the booking is made in the online
booking system, the customer makes the payment independently, no invoices will
be sent by Wild North staff.
If the booking is made earlier than 48 days
before the beginning of the rental period, the customer will receive two
invoices. The advance payment will due 14 days after the date of booking. The
amount of advance payment is 30% of the total. The final payment will due 4
weeks before the beginning of the rental period.
If the booking is made 48 - 14 days before the beginning of the rental period,
the customer will receive one invoice with total amount. The due date is 7 days
from the date of booking.
If the booking is made less than 14 days before the beginning of the rental
period, the customer will receive one invoice with the total amount. The
invoice is due immediately.
Both advance and final payment must be paid by the due date indicated on the
invoice.
With the invoice/s, the customer has received
information on where to pick up the keys, driving directions and other
necessary information. The keys will be given only when receipts of the
payment/s are presented to the key provider.
Wild North reserves the right to alter the
prices.
3. Making an online reservation
All conditions in this
document are applied to online bookings. The Service Fee (13e) will not be
added except in cases described later (4. Cancellations and changes). While
making an online reservation, the customer must pay online at least the advance
payment (30%). Alternatively, the customer can choose to pay the whole amount.
When the online reservation has been completed, the online booking system will
automatically send a verification to the email address the customer has given
to the online booking system. Should the customer have chosen to pay the
advance payment only, the verification email will include the final invoice as
an attachment. Villi Pohjola/Wild North staff will not send invoices,
verification or other information of online reservations.
After paying the whole amount, the customer is
to contact Villi Pohjola/Wild North to obtain a voucher of the booking. After
Villi Pohjola/Wild North has received the full amount, the voucher will be
emailed to the customer within 7 days. The voucher must be presented when
collecting the cabin key.
When making an online reservation, the customer
must make sure that s/he returns to the verification page of the online booking
system after the online payment. If the customer fails to return to the online
booking system, the reservation has not been made and the customer should
contact Villi Pohjola/Wild North promptly. The automated verification email
will not be sent either. Villi Pohjola/Wild North is not responsible of failed
online bookings and does not quarantee that the cabin is still available when
the staff is able to react. If the desired cabin is not available anymore, the paid money will be refunded or the
customer will be offered another cabin when possible. When making an online
booking, the customer accepts both the General Booking Conditions for Cabins
and the General Terms of Use of the Villi Pohjola/Wild North website. The
customer is also responsible of reading the online booking system instructions
before making an online reservation.
4. Cancellations and changes
The cancellation date will be the date on which Wild North receives information
of the cancellation. If the customer shows that a cancellation has been sent in
sufficiently good time to arrive by the intended date, the cancellation will be
approved even if it arrives late or not at all.
If the customer cancels the booking 28 days or earlier before the beginning of
the rental period, the service fee (13 EUR) will be charged. Also of internet
bookings.
If the customer cancels the booking less than 28 days but at least 14 days
before the beginning of the rental period, 30% of the total will be charged.
If the customer cancels the booking less than 14 days but at least 48 hours
before the beginning of the rental period, 50% of the total will be charged.
If the customer cancels the booking less than 48 hours before the beginning of
the rental period, the total amount will be charged.
If a booking is cancelled before the beginning of the rental period due to
sudden illness, accident or death of the customer or the customer's immediate
family, the customer is entitled to a full refund of paid rent. Wild North must
be reported without delay and properly verified e.g. by a doctor's certificate
or other reliable account. The address: Villi Pohjola/SA, PL 8016, 96101
Rovaniemi, Finland. If a cancellation due to the above reasons occurs during
the rental period, the customer will not be refunded.
If the customer wishes to change the rental period or holiday spot, this will
be considered a cancellation of the previous booking and the change will be
treated as a new booking.
5. Owner's right to cancel a booking
In case of force majeure, the owner of the holiday spot reserves the right to
cancel the rental agreement, in which case the owner must as soon as possible
inform the customer. The customer will then be entitled to receive a full
refund of paid rent. Possible other expenses caused to the customer will not be
compensated.
6. Returning keys
The customer will return keys to the holiday spot according to the instructions
supplied with the invoice or by the key provider.
7. Use of cabin and facilities
The holiday spot will be at the customer's disposal from 2 pm on the date of
arrival until 12 noon on the date of departure. The customer is entitled to the
use of the cabin, equipment and yard during the rental period. The customer is
expected to bring bed linen and towels unless otherwise indicated. The customer
is responsible for keeping the cabin and yard tidy. If the customer does not
clean up at the end of the rental period, the owner is has the right to collect
full payment, minimum 86 EUR, for cleaning the cabin and yard.
The maximum person capacity of a cabin, i.e. number
of beds, is indicated in the brochure, website or otherwise. Should the
maximum person capacity be exceeded, it must be agreed with Wild North. Wild
North charges 5 EUR/prs/Day of extra guests. The amount of guests must be
informed to Wild North when booking a cabin.
8. Compensation for damage
The customer must pay the owner for any damage which the customer causes to the
cabin, equipment or yard.
9. Complaints
Any complaints must always be
made as soon as the problem arises to the person taking care of the cabin or
the owner. If this is not possible or if satisfactory action is not taken or if
a claim is made for compensation, a complaint must be sent in writing within
one month of the end of the rental period to:

Wild North reserves a one-month period for the handling of complaints. If Wild
North and the customer cannot reach an agreement, the customer can bring the
matter to the attention of the Finnish Consumer Complaints Board.
10. Other remarks
Wild North is not obliged to compensate the customer for any damage or costs
resulting from natural conditions, such as mosquitoes, mice, or unexpected changes in the weather.
