In Western Finland Wild North’s ”holiday
kingdom” cover the area of Parkano, Saukonniemi in Eura and northern Central –
Finland. In Parkano area, nature travellers well known places include
Seitseminen and Helvetinjärvi National Parks. The holiday goes by trekking on
diversified hiking trails as well as by fishing on the many lakes of the area.
Central – Finland’s northern parts offer plenty of rental cabins and the
fisherman’s paradise: Kolima – Keitele fishing area. If fishing and hunting are
not in your interests, the area offers also good hiking – and berry picking
possibilities. West – Finland is also suitable as a winter vacation

Parkano cabins
The cabins of Parkano are located
in the neighbourhood of Seitseminen or Helvetinjärvi National Parks. Hiking
trails in whole are 300 km. The sizes of the cabins varies from small family
cabins to large logging cabins suitable for groups. In the national parks; with
a bit of luck, flying squirrel, fox, lynx and even a wolf can be seen.
Sometimes also badger and wild boar appear in sight. Teerilampi and Lappijärvi
recreational fishing area offers with many side services to try out fishing. At
the lakes and ponds the catch can include lavaret, lake salmon, trout and pike
perch. In summer and autumn cloudberries, lingonberries, blueberries, bog
whortleberries, cranberries and mushrooms are waiting to be picked.
Saukonniemi in Eurajoki
On the Finnish west coast close to
Eira, in the recreational forest of Pinkjärvi is located Wuojoki mansion’s old
hunting cottage of Saukonniemi. In Pinkjärvi many marked walking trails, open
huts and fireplaces. The area is well suitable for fishermen and hunters.
Northern Central-Finland´s cabins
Northern Central–Finland’s most
outstanding wilderness destination is Kolima – Keitele rapids fishing area. It
is a real fishing paradise in the middle of the most beautiful ”kingdom” of the
Wild North. Ahvenlampi and Kaunislampi cabins are located near Salamanjärvi
National Park. Possibilities to trek in National Park areas from these
destinations.
